A mid-term conference on food and drug supervision was held on 30 July 2009. Shao Mingli, the Commissioner of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) and the Vice Mayer Zhang Junfang joined the conference.
It has been shown that the work of food and drug supervision in Tianjin is fruitful. In the first half year of 2009, local food and drug administration were steadily promoted and the supervision of drugs and medical devices were enhanced as well. The working focus in the second half year is to deepen the special control on drug safety and to enlarge the supervision on drugs and medical devices.
At the conference, Shao Mingli expressed his affirmation to the great efforts done in the past. It is expected by him that the reform in food and drug supervision system will steadily progress. Zhang Junfang pointed out again the importance of food and drug safety in her speech. She summarized the work of food and drug supervision in Tianjin and addressed that it is important for the next step to strictly follow the Food Safety Law and issue pointed policies.
